City Property Goes Missing

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A city employee reported to Oct. 19 that his city-owned Hewlett Packard laptop computer valued at $779 was stolen from his unlocked truck while it was parked within fenced area at the Stow Street Department's service building.

The employee told police he believes the theft occurred between Oct. 13 and Oct. 16, when the vehicle was parked in the lot waiting to be repaired.

Police noted that another theft had occurred nearby between Oct. 11-13.

A Snap-On 2 1/2-ton hydraulic jack valued at $700 was reported stolen Oct. 13 from the service department's salt storage building.
