UPDATE: Flooding Reports Across Stow

Heavy rains led to flash flooding across Stow as severe thunderstorms swept across Ohio Wednesday.

Residents reported multiple incidents of flooding both on the Stow Patch Facebook page and by calling city hall.

The city issued a press release Wednesday reminding residents to call the city's police dispatch at 330-689-5700 with reports of flooding or drainage concerns.

"The City of Stow Service and Engineering Departments have deployed several crews throughout the city to respond to reports of flooding," the press release reads. "City of Stow crews are also working to restore any malfunctioning traffic lights in the city. Motorists are reminded that a non-working traffic light should be treated as a four-way stop."

A flood warning remains in effect for Stow and Summit County until 11 a.m. Thursday.

The Metro Parks Serving Summit County reported this morning that sections of the Towpath Trail managed by the Metro Parks are closed as they evaluate post-storm conditions.

Residents can report non-emergency drainage and flooding concerns from the storm to the city's service department by calling 330-689-2829 Monday through Friday from 8am-4:30pm.

FirstEnergy reported fewer than five customers in Stow were without power as of 6:30 p.m. Wednesday after the bulk of the storms had already moved through the area.
