Viewfinder and Video: Rain and Melting Snow Cause Flooding in Stow

Roadways were clear, but several makeshift ponds were springing up in yards and parks in Stow Feb. 28.

There are three Summit County warnings in effect today: a Flood Warning, River Flood Warning and a Flood Watch.

A thunderstorm rolled through Stow last night and as temperatures started to increase, the snow started to melt and cause flooding in some residential neighborhoods and parks.

"This morning there were a few roads water covered," said Assistant Public Service Director Michael Miller. At this time, Treeside Drive and Martinique Circle have some water coverage and might be impassible for low-clearance cars, he said.

About two inches of rain accumulated overnight and then about three inches of snow melt was added to it.

Today, expect a mix of rain and snow showers with temperatures getting up to about 40 degrees and down to about 30 degrees tonight.
