Winter Storm Warning in Stow Lifted

Traffic on SR 8 and Graham Road was slow going Monday night.

A Winter Storm Warning for Stow has expired, accoring to the National Weather Service.

As of 4:30 p.m. Monday, Mayor Karen Fritschel said a parking ban was not yet in effect. Cuyahoga Falls issued a parking ban, so stay tuned to Stow Patch to see if Stow will have one soon too.

About four to eight inches of snow accumulation was expected overnight.

Traffic on Graham Road and SR 8 — both north and southbound — was traveling about 10 mph around 7 p.m. Monday. A car slid off the right side of SR 8 northbound, just past the Graham Road exit.

Cuyahoga Falls and Stow dispatchers were quite busy and said they wouldn’t have a reliable count of accidents until the snow subsides and authorities can catch up with the paperwork.

 Power outages from earlier Monday lingered into the evening in some spots around Northeast Ohio. About 1,700 customers in Lakewood were still without power at 7:40 p.m. according to FirstEnergy estimates.

 FirstEnergy spokesperson Mark Durbin said “we’re hopeful” to get power restored soon, but some areas may not be restored until Tuesday.
