Stow, Ohio…The 3rd Annual Kelly’s Grief Center Family 5K Run/Walk is the perfect way to start your spring!  The race will be held at Roses Run Country Club in Stow and is sponsored by Klaben Auto Stores. The race will feature a 3.1 mile scenic loop through Pambi Farms neighborhood, plus a post-race pancake breakfast and celebration with a plenty of prizes for all.  The race plays an important role in funding Kelly’s Grief Center, located in Kent.  The center assists those in Northeast Ohio who have suffered the loss of a loved one.

Over the past two years, the event has hosted over 500 runners and walkers.  Last year the event was held on a Saturday, however organizers are returning to a Sunday morning format to accommodate more runners’ and families’ busy schedules.  This year, walkers will be joining the same route as the runners.  Timing of the event will be done by SARC (Summit Athletic Running Club) who assisted with the timing last year and has been a supporter since the race’s inception.

This year’s  post-race celebration will feature a sausage and pancake breakfast for all participants with the option for spectators to purchase additional meals.  During the post-race celebration, awards will be given to the top three male/female overall winners, as well as winners in each age group category.  A 50/50 raffle and numerous giveaways will be part of the celebration.

Again this year, Second Sole in Kent is offering race packet pick-up on Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4 during regular store hours.  The store is also offering 15% off merchandise to all runners who come in after the race with their bibs.

Registration for the event is $25 until May 1st and $30 after that date.  Tech shirts will be provided to the first 200 registered runners or walkers.  Strollers are welcome, but please no pets.  Registration can be completed online through active.com or by mail.  Check the organizer’s website for more registration information at www.kellysgriefcenter.org
