Silver Lake Park book signing at Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society museum

A book signing event for Silver Lake Park by Stow author and local historian Mary L. McClure will be held Sun., April 13 from 1:30 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society museum, 2083 Cook St. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.

Silver Lake Park, which operated from the 1870s-1917, had dozens of attractions ranging from one of the largest dance halls in the area, a miniature railway, roller coaster and other mechanical rides, live animal exhibits, including the first public aquarium in Ohio, an early aviation field, water toboggans, steamships and much more.

To reach the Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society museum, drive east on Portage Trail and cross Munroe Falls Avenue. Cook Street will be the third street on the right. Turn right on Cook and drive a few hundred feet. The museum is located across from the Portage Trail East apartments.

On-street parking is available in front of the museum. Additional parking is available in the rear lot and on side streets. Admission to the museum is free.
