'Little Shop of Horrors': Radio Announcer (VIDEO)

Dunn can be seen in this video of last year's "Inherit the Wind" @ 2:10 on the attached YouTube video.

“Little Shop of Horrors,” the SMFHS musical, features a man-eating plant, talented actors and even the school's most spirited kid—Connor
Dunn.

“I am the President of Speech and Debate, on the Executive Committee of Drama Club, a member of NHS and I play Tenor Sax and Bassoon for the school band. I also am an honor student and I take AP Photo, which should be treated like an activity and not a class due to the work load,” Dunn said. “Additionally, I work at . Shout out to Stownut!”

The senior earned the title of the senior with the most school spirit at the beginning of the year, and earned the title of Radio Announcer in this year's musical later on. Dunn is also set to play a Chinese man and will assist in the animation of the antagonist plant.

“I tried out for a couple reasons actually. It is my final show that I can do, so I had too. There was no excuse. I love theater and I wanted to preform with them one last time,” Dunn said, adding that he could not participate in Senior Class Play this year.

Dunn is set to go to Otterbein University to major in theater next fall.

“It would be just plain wrong not to participate in this show,” Dunn said.

Dunn has had a history of participating in theater at SMFHS, starting with his crew work on the set of “Romeo and Juliet” his freshman year.

Last year Dunn reached the pinnacle of his acting days in Stow, playing the lead in his Junior Class Play production of “Inherit the Wind.”

Dunn acknowledges the challenges of producing a good musical, stating that “I am all over the place at rehearsals moving from one character to another. I sometimes have trouble seeing the big picture.”

“ I think the main problem I have faced in the musical is trying to fit my particular piece into the puzzle that we are making,” Dunn said.

Tickets to see Dunn and the rest of the “Little Shop” cast are currently on sale and will be up until April 20, 21 and 22 — the dates of the shows. General admission tickets for students and senior citizens is $8 and for adults the price is $10. Reserved seating is on sale for $12 and two patron seats can be purchased for $35.

Dunn said, “ I think everyone comes to the show with some specific reason to do well and when you lump every single person's motivation together you have something great on your hands.”
