Movies at the Library

Movies and new digital projection equipment come to the library.

We are thrilled to announce that we’ve got a new projector, screen and sound system here at the library. It took some doing, and most of the staff spent an afternoon trying to puzzle out all the remotes, but we are now up and running!

Side note:  How many library-types does it take to figure out a remote control?  A lot. (This seemed improbable to me, surrounded by a room full of people with a dozen advanced degrees between them, but there you are. So if your DVD player at home is still blinking “12:00 AM,” don’t feel too badly.)

After I stopped reflexively ducking in response to the surround-sound during our test showing of “Fast Five,” I’ve come to appreciate the high-tech niftiness of our new media capabilities. We show a feature film every Wednesday afternoon – sometimes new releases, sometimes classics.

The films start at 1 p.m.  What would you like to see?  Is another day or time better for you?  Let us know! Comment at the bottom of the page, or give me a call at (330) 688-3295 ext. 228.

The new equipment is also perfect for presentations. Hook up a laptop and you’re ready to go – presentations are projected on the big screen. Think you might need a microphone to make your voice heard? We’ve got the kind you clip to your lapel, and stand-up ones too. As long as the room is free, you can book the whole system for your next group presentation by calling (330) 688-3295 ext. 8.  Non-profit groups can use the facilities for free. There’s a small charge for for-profit organizations.

In the meantime, pull up a chair & enjoy the films! We even provide the popcorn.

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
