Shon Christy and Matt White of Eat.Drink.Promote. to speak in Orlando event Sept. 22-24

Stow, OH – When you ask most people about business and the economy, you often get a negative or possibly a neutral response. Talk to Matt White and Shon Christy, two Stow residents and co-founders of Eat.Drink.Promote., and you’ll get a completely different answer. Since launching their company earlier this year, it’s been a whirlwind of success, the latest of which includes their involvement in the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Show (FRLS) in Orlando later this week.

The Ferdinand Metz Foodservice Forum, the educational arm of the FRLS, provides gold-standard, industry-leading educational content that is practical and relevant for today’s foodservice professional. Industry leaders come together from across the country to deliver real, applicable business lessons, the latest information on trends and best practices in the market, and their own opinions of what creates success.

“We’re excited to be a part of the Ferdinand Metz Foodservice Forum and the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Show,” said White. “It’s an honor to be among these industry leaders and to share our expertise with those who need it most – the restaurant owners themselves.”

The FRLS attracts thousands of attendees from across Florida and surrounding states. The duo of Christy and White will be speaking on the topic of social media for restaurants. Their session is titled “Facebook. Twitter. Foursquare. Yelp. The Four Basic Food Groups.” Through this interactive presentation, each of these major social networks will be examined and tips will be shared on how to use the major platforms to improve the bottom line. The pair’s education sessions will take place at the Orange County Convention Center on Sunday at 4:00 pm and Monday at 3:00 pm.

“There are so many social media options out there,” explained Christy. “Often restaurants aren’t taking full advantage of what’s available. So, our goal is to focus on the best ones and help these owners know their options and understand how to effectively utilize the platform or platforms that are right for their venue.”

The Ferdinand Metz Foodservice Forum is also connected to the Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo in Anaheim and the International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York, and the two hope to be involved with those shows in 2013 as well.
