SPRING BIRDING PROGRAMS TAKE FLIGHT

March is an ideal month for bird watching in Northeast Ohio as many migrants return and resident species become more active.

Both new and experienced birders are invited to observe and enjoy this seasonal resurgence by attending the following FREE naturalist-led programs:

Friday, March 7, 6:30 p.m.
BIG BIRD NIGHT: WOODCOCKS & OWLS
Liberty Park / Pond Brook Conservation Area

Discover the amazing woodcock and attempt to witness the male bird's spectacular courtship flight over nearby fields, and then hike to search for owls. Bring binoculars and flashlights.

“In March, year-round residents will begin enjoying the banquet provided by emerging insects and larvae,” said Naturalist Pat Rydquist. “Migrants will be traveling to their spring nesting sites and seeking out suitable mates.”
