Cab Rider Leaves Credit Card as Collateral

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department.

A cab owner calledwhile waiting for a passenger to return to the car with cab fare early Aug. 11. 

Police said an Akron man brought a passenger from Kent to a house in Stow. The passenger said he had money in the house and would be back to pay for the $43 ride.

The driver told officers the man left a Huntington credit card with him to prove he "was serious," according to the police report.

The passenger then disappeared around the front of the house and was not seen again.

Attmepts to find the passenger at the time of report were unsuccessful, police said.

There are no charges at this time, as the investigation is pending.
