Some Power Outages Reported in Stow because of High Winds

Gusts of up to 50 mph are expected until 10 p.m. April 16, 2012.

FirstEnergy (Ohio Edison) is reporting that 50 or less people in Stow are experiencing power outages "due to high winds passing through our service territory."

A employee said the power went out for a few minutes around 2:30 p.m. April 16, but came back on quickly.

Also around 2:30 p.m., the traffic lights at the Graham Road and Darrow Road intersection were flashing red. By 3 p.m. the traffic lights were functioning normally again.

"Crews are working to assess the damage and we will provide updates as more information becomes available. We thank you for your patience, and as always, please remember to treat all downed wires as live and dangerous," according to a message on the FirstEnergy website.

We frequently have trouble with our TWC with outages, especially in the howlin' wind! It would seem like Stow is considered the end-of-the-line boondocks in the world of Time Warner. We lost internet and TV for a bit last night, which was NO surprise. But we have outages about 3 times a month, and most are not weather related. It makes a little crazy, since my cable bill continues to climb, regardless of quality of service. I know this post isn't completely on point, but I'll bet there are ALOT of citizens here in Stow who can relate, and I just needed to vent!
