5-car crash happened before 9 a.m.

At least five people were injured, including three juveniles, in a five-car crash that closed Graham Road this morning.

Update: Graham Road was re-opened around 12:30 p.m., according to the Stow Police Department Facebook page

Stow Police Chief Louis Dirker said the crash happened at about 8:30 a.m. near Englewood Drive.

Dirker said it's unclear what caused the crash at this point, and the extent of the victims' injuries is unknown.

"They transported five people between Cuyahoga Falls EMS and Stow EMS," he said.

Dirker said a Stow Police officer was driving westbound on Graham Road at 8:23 a.m. when he spotted a black Ford passenger car traveling eastbound driving left-of-center. The officer turned around to follow the car, but by the time he crested the hill near Englewood Drive the crash had already happened.

Dirker said the three juveniles who were transported were passengers in the mini-van involved in the crash.

No charges have been filed, but the Summit Metro Crash Response Team, a specialized unit that reconstructs complex accidents, is investigating the crash.

"We’ll know more when the crash team gets done," Dirker said.
