Teens Arrested for Setting Up 'Trashy' Road Blocks

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department.

Aofficer was dispatched to the Bunker Lane-Wexford Boulevard area June 19 around 2 a.m. because a resident said a bunch of trash was blocking the road. 

When the officer pulled up to the area, he said all four sides of the intersection had been completely blocked with miscellaneous trash cans, a wheel barrel, cinder blocks, rocks and other landscaping-related items. 

The officer said he checked the area and found nine additional roadway blocks near Bunker Lane, Eastewicke and Wexford Boulevards and Oldham Way.

All of them were obstructed with trash cans, trash bags, loose trash and other landscaping items, the officer said.

During the clean up near Wexford, the officer said he saw a silver four-door vehicle approach the area.

"The vehicle quickly stopped, turned around and sped away on Wexford toward Fishcreek Road," the police report stated.

A Stow sergeant in the area stopped the vehicle.

Two Stow teens were in the car and police said they admitted to being responsible for the road blocks. They were arrested and charged with criminal mischief, a third-degree misdemeanor.

They also gave the names of two other juveniles involved, according to the report. All of the youths were 17-years-old. Some of the students were students an some went to a private school.
