Police Nab Five Kohl's Shoplifters in Four Days

Five different people were arrested for shoplifting at department store during a recent four-day period, according to reports:
- On Nov. 16 at 4:22 p.m., a Kohl’s loss prevention employee detained a 20-year-old Stow woman who shoplifted $211 worth of clothing and earrings by concealing the items in a handbag, according to the report. The store recovered the merchandise and the woman was arrested for theft, a first-degree misdemeanor, and released on a personal recognizance bond. The woman arrested works as a cashier at another store in the same plaza.
- Also on Nov. 16, a Kohl’s employee reported that two Ravenna women had left the store just before 7 p.m. without paying for items. The miscellaneous clothing items, shoes and jewelry were valued at $245. One of the suspects, a 20-year-old, was charged with theft, a first-degree misdemeanor, and issued a summons to appear in . The other woman, 19, was charged with theft and criminal trespassing, both misdemeanors, as she “was previously advised to not return to Kohl’s.”
- While investigating one of the Nov. 16 shoplifting incidents at Kohl’s, a Stow police officer found clothing items valued at $114 that were determined to have been stolen earlier that day from .
- On Nov. 18, a Kohl's employee stopped a male shoplifter at 11:30 a.m. The manager said the Stow man, 45, had taken a Nike fleece hat valued at $22 and an Adidas beanie cap valued at $18. The man was charged with theft, a first-degree misdemeanor, and released on a personal recognizance bond.
- On Nov. 19, a Kohl’s employee reported that a 20-year-old Kent woman had exited the store just after 7:30 p.m. without paying for clothing and jewelry valued at about $300. The merchandise, concealed in the woman’s handbag, was recovered by the store. The woman was charged with theft, a first-degree misdemeanor.
