Man Circles Bow Wow Beach, Threatens Woman After Dog Bitten

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department.

A Tallmadge woman visiting called April 1 because she said a man was circling the parking lot and threatening her after an incident at the park when her Lab bit the man's Miniature Pincher on the back.

The woman told police that she offered to handle the situation, but the man, who had a Chihuahua with him as well, became "very mean and irate," according to the report.

The man, described as being 6-feet-tall, in his late 30s and wearing an orange shirt at the time, told the woman she was going "to know what it was like to feel pain" and cursed at her, the report states.

The woman, who was there with her Lab, two children and husband, told officers they were afraid to leave because the man was driving around the parking lot in a newer model black Kia.

Police said the woman thought the man might follow her home and cause harm to her, her dogs or her property.

The family did not leave the park until police arrived and officers followed the woman's car down the street until it left city limits.

Police said an officer waited at the dog park to see if the Kia would return, but it did not.

Menacing, in this situation, is a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
