Man Tracked by Police Dog, Charged for Hit-Skip-Spit

arrested Leonard Jared Dye, 22, of Stow and charged him with four misdemeanors and one felony charge of harassment with a bodily substance for spitting on an officer March 23 around 3:30 a.m.
According to the police report, Dye was arrested following a hit-skip investigation. Police Chief Louis Dirker said a crash happened at 4211 Darrow Rd. when a vehicle hit a utility pole and the driver fled on foot.
K-9 Police Officer Ted Bell and his partner Nero tracked Dye down at his home on Arndale Drive, said Dirker.

Dye resisted arrest and spit on Officer Rob Molody's face, according to the report.
The report also states that Dye was suspected of using alcohol. Along with the felony harassment charge, Dye was also charged by police with drunken driving, hit-skip, failure to control and resisting arrest, all first-degree misdemeanors in this situation.

Dye was taken to Summit County Jail.
