Man Tries to Escape Custody at Stow Court: Police Blotter

All information is according to Stow Police and Stow Municipal Court. Arrest information does not indicate conviction.

An Alliance, OH, man reportedly escaped police custody within a Stow Municipal Court room and tried to flee the building recently, according to Stow Police.

Micah A. Steiner, 39, was charged with escape, a fifth-degree felony, and resisting arrest, a second-degree misdemeanor, when he fled a courtroom and tried to escape from the building.

Court officers told police that Steiner fled the courtroom after he was sentenced to 178 days in the Summit County jail on charges originating in Tallmadge, OH, and he tried to escape from the courthouse itself.

Steiner had been in court regarding violations of his sentencing on charges of violating a protection order when he tried to flee police custody on May 6.

He was ordered to be held on a $2,500 bond in the Summit County jail.

This isn't the first trouble with someone in custody at the court.

A Tallmadge women was charged with possession of drugs after, while in custody at the courthouse, officers found a small baggie containing "a suspected illegal drug" in her possession.

Nicole R. Conley, 26, was charged with a fifth-degree felony drug possession offense April 24 while in custody at the courthouse.

Conley's case has been bound over to the Summit County court.
