The number of victims who claim they were sexually assaulted by a former Stow doctor has grown to nearly 50.
A total 49 victims, all female, have come forward claiming they were sexually assaulted by James P. Bressi, 59, of 2468 Victoria Parkway, Hudson, OH, according to Stow Police records.
Police arrested Bressi in August after the Summit County grand jury indicted him on 23 counts of sexual assault involving 10 patients. The arrest stemmed from a year and-a-half long investigation.
The victim reports date to as early as July 3. Bressi was arrested Aug. 30. Since his arrest, at least 22 more women came forward and reported cases of abuse while Bressi was working at the Summit Pain Clinic at 4302 Allen Road.
Summit Pain Specialists, located on Allen Road in the Akron General complex in Stow, posted a message on its website stating that Bressi has not been employed by the practice since March 2013.
Summit County Common Pleas Judge Tom Parker granted a $100,000 bond to Bressi this month with the conditions that he surrender his passport and have no contact with the complaining victims.
So far, Bressi is facing trail on one count of rape, a first-degree felony, 11 counts of gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony, and 11 counts of sexual imposition, a third-degree misdemeanor, according to the Summit County Clerk of Courts.
