Officer Badge Stolen, Convertible Top Cut, Music Blasting

A sampling of police blotter items from April 5-11.

A retired Silver Lake Police Officer reported to April 5 that his police badge, $100 and his social security card were taken from his car. The car was parked in the driveway of his King Drive residence. Theft, in this situation, is a fifth-degree felony.

In other police news:

  •  A Kent Road resident, around the 4400 block, reported to police that a screen door was broken April 11 around 12:30 a.m. There was no other damage and the suspect did not enter the home. The screen door is valued at $30. Criminal mischief is a third-degree misdemeanor.
  •  A Stow woman left her bank card at the drive-thru ATM on Darrow Road April 9. After forgetting the card, the woman then reported to police that $300 was missing from her account. Theft and misuse of a credit card are both fifth-degree felonies.
  • A Kings Mill Boulevard resident reported to police April 7 that someone cut the roof of her locked convertible in the driveway to try and enter the car. No items were taken. Theft from a motor vehicle is a first-degree misdemeanor.
  • Stow Police were arresting a juvenile on Apache Road and a 20-year-old neighbor across the street opened the windows of his home and “turned music up so loud we could not communicate with the suspect,” according to the report. After the youth was arrested, the music was turned down by the neighbor. Unlawful noise is a minor misdemeanor.
