Police Continue Search for Osage Shooter

March 2 shooting may have been drug related

The Stow Police Department continues its search for the gunman who shot two Stow men earlier this month in a house on Osage Street.

Stow Police Chief Louis Dirker said there haven't been any breaks in the March 2 shooting, which may have been drug related due to the substantial amount of marijuana found in the house.

"Detectives are following up on several leads," Dirker said.

That Saturday evening officers responded to a report that a man had been shot at 4034 Osage St., where police found Jason Hoy, 20, had been shot in a lower limb.

Later that night, police received a call that Andrew Brown, 21, was dropped off by a private car at Akron General North with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Neither sustained life-threatening injuries.

Brown and Hoy told police that three men entered the Osage Street home, shot them and then fled.

The ranch-style house is owned by Tracy and Steven Holcroft, according to the Summit County Auditor's Office.

While no one has been charged in the shooting, neither Hoy nor Brown have been charged with a crime in connection to the case.

Dirker said previously he was "cautiously optimistic" the investigation would yield arrests.
