Police on the Hunt for Gunman, Car Thief
A gunman, who stole a car on Monday to evade police, remains on the loose, but detectives are processing evidence that may help lead to his capture.
As of Friday morning, police reported that they have not identified or caught the man who held Stow residents at gunpoint and stole their car.
However, SPD Det. E Gaffney said the department collected and is currently processing evidence that was found at the crime scene.
“We are currently doing everything we can to catch this person,” Gaffney said.

On Monday, Stow police were responding to a reported burglary at about 1:40 p.m. when they saw a black man (6'1", 200 lbs.) leaving the residence on the 2300 block of Graham Road. Witnesses say the man could be anywhere from 25 to 40 years old.
As police closed in, he fled on foot, reportedly forced his way into a home at Graham and Sanford Avenue and told residents he had a gun. The man then locked the residents in their laundry room and stole their tan 2003 Ford Taurus, license plate number: EQM 9130.

If anyone sees a Taurus that matches the description and plate number, they are encouraged to immediately call the at 330-689-5700, the detective said.
