Police Report Attempted Abduction of Child

All information is according to Stow Police

A 6-year-old Stow child was nearly abducted from Silver Springs Campground, according to Stow Police.

The parents of the male child told police that he returned to their camp site on Aug. 30 highly agitated. The child told his parents that a white male tried to kidnap him by picking him up and taking him to his truck.

The child bit the abductor and broke free, according to police.

The boy had followed an older cousin to the nearby movie playing at Summer Sunset Blast, leaving the campsite without permission, when the attempted abduction took place.

The boy told police two men were involved: a white male, about 50 years old, about 6 feet tall and clean shaven; and a white male about 5 feet 7 inches tall with brown hair.

Anyone with information about the attempted abduction can call Stow Police Det. Jaff Swanson at 330-689-5734.
