Scrap Thieves hit Fishcreek Road House

Copper piping stolen from property

Another Stow house has become the victim of copper thieves.

An agent for Countrywide Home Loans reported to Stow Police that someone broke into the house at 4795 Fishcreek Road and used a saw to cut out the structure's copper piping.

Thieves caused an estimated $1,500 in damage, according to Stow Police.

Scrap yards in Northeast Ohio are paying anywhere from $2 to $3 per pound and up for scrap copper.

The property is vacant, as it's in the midst of foreclosure proceedings.

The house is set for sheriff's auction in September, according to the Summit County Sheriff's Office.

In late March, thieves hit a vacant house on Meadowbrook Boulevard and ripped the copper piping from its walls.
