Stay-at-Home Dad Arrested After Infant Hospitalized for Possible 'Shaken Baby Injuries'
The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
A 29-year-old Stow father of a baby who is only a few weeks old was arrested Sept. 21 at his home after further investigation into a reported case of "possible shaken baby injuries."
The baby, who was only six-weeks-old at the time of injury, was taken to Akron Children's Hospital. A social worker there reported the incident to the Stow Police Department after the infant was being treated for "a brain bleed" Sept. 15.
John Frederick Carlow, 29, the father of the infant was arrested on a warrant and charged by police with assault and endangering children, both second-degree felonies.

The infant's mother, a 25-year-old who lives at the 4700 bock of Waterford Circle, was with the baby while it was being treated. She was also listed as a witness in the incident.
The case is still being investigated. According to court records, Carlow, who is listed as a stay-at-home dad, did not enter into a plea Sept. 29. The case was bound over to a grand jury.

A cash bond of $250,000 was continued.
