Stow Man Pleads Not Guilty in Child Porn Case

A Stow man has pleaded not guilty to charges of child pornography after being indicted by the Summit County grand jury.

Thomas E. Williams, 74, of 3038 Stockbridge Drive, pleaded not guilty in Summit County court to two counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, fourth-degree and second-degree felonies, and one count of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material or performance, a fifth-degree felony.

Williams pleaded not guilty May 1 before Summit County Common Pleas Judge Alison McCarty. The grand jury charged Williams via a secret indictment in April.

Tallmadge Police arrested Williams on a warrant for the charges in April with assistance from Stow Police.

Details of the charges and Williams connection to the victim or victims was not immediately available.

McCarty permitted Williams' release on a $1,000 bond on the condition that he have no contact with the victim or victims.

His trial is scheduled to continue Wednesday.
