Stow Remains Popular Target for Scrap Thieves

All information is according to Stow Police

The latest Stow business to fall victim to scrap metal thieves lost about $10,000 in materials.

Employees of Anderson Drilling and Pump on S.R. 91 told Stow Police that earlier this month someone stole 44 pieces of black well pipe casings varying from 4 inches, 5 inches and 6 inches in diameter along with miscellaneous tools.

The theft happened some time between Aug. 9 and Aug. 12.

Thieves also stole scrap metal from a Stow school recently.

Officials at Echo Hills Elementary told police that someone stole metal from the old boilers that were replaced at the building.

When the new boilers were installed, the old boilers were placed behind the school and parts were taken from them some time between Aug. 15 and Aug. 16.
