Man Accused of Holding Wife at Gunpoint in Stow

A 36-year-old man is charged with kidnapping and domestic violence after holding his estranged wife at gunpoint for several hours this morning at her Sanford Avenue home,  said.

Nicholas Patrick Dobrzanski, 36, is in the  Summit County Jail on a $500,000 bond set by  Judge Lisa Coates.

Two children were in the home, at 3559 Sanford Ave., during the event and were unaware of what was happening, said police. The children were unharmed.

The woman did receive medical treatment, but police could not go into more details at this time, Stow Lt. Anne Stirm said.

The woman called police at 6:30 a.m. Dobrzanski surrendered to the police without incident at 6:50 a.m. when police arrived at the home, said Stirm.

Police learned later that Dobrzanski had several weapons inside the home.

Dobrzanski is charged with kidnapping, a second-degree felony, and domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony.
