Thieves Ransack Cars Across Stow

All information is according to Stow Police

Thousands of dollars in electronics, jewelry and a gun were stolen from cars around Stow recently.

Numerous car owners reported their cars were ransacked and some items stolen.

One car owner reported to police Sunday that someone entered their car while it was parked in the 4600 block of Cox Drive and stole a .45 caliber semi-automatic Smith & Wesson handgun valued at $500. A Toshiba laptop, valued at $400, and a Samsung video camera, valued at $200, were also reported stolen from the car.

A driver whose car was parked in the 3700 block of Lake Run Boulevard on Thursday was broken into an an Apple Macbook Pro laptop, valued at $2,000, and two watches valued at a combined total of more than $5,300 also were reported stolen.

Another driver whose car was parked in the 3700 block of Lake Run Boulevard on Thursday reported a Dell laptop computer, valued at $900, was taken from the car.

In addition, numerous other reports were filed with police within the past week by people claiming to have found their cars broken into and loose change or other small items taken.

No arrests have been made.
