Vandals Hit SKIP Playground

Estimated $500 damage done to park near city hall

Vandals hit the Stow Kids Playground near city hall some time during the schools' spring break last week.

City officials reported finding nearly $500 in damage at the park on Saturday.

Someone spray painted graffiti on the walls and doors of the public restrooms at the park, according to Stow Police.

A stainless steel paper towel dispenser and a liquid soap dispenser were damaged.

Stow Parks and Recreation employees made repairs at the park Monday.

Not excusing this disgusting behavior but the teens in this town have nothing else to do with their free time. We need a Rec Center!!!

Arec center!!! And of course this would never ever happen again. Odd that you start with"Not excusing this disgusting behavior" and then proceed to do exactly that. This kind of stuff has gone on way back when it used to be tipping over outhouses, etc. As it is we seem to be giving these kids way to much already. I vote for a long term community service, and a rather karge fine. Of course tho you would want the parents to give them the money for the fine!

absoluetly NOLAN!! When we give them a rec center and they get bored with it they probably will vandalize it!

Take your bitterness and hatred for children out on someone else, I'm not your wife, I'm not your daughter, and I won't tolerate being yelled at by a stranger. My opinion is my opinion and you don't have to share it but you do have to be respectful.
Stow Resident April 02, 2013 at 08:41 PM
Melissa was just stating her opinion. She has a right to it. Jim, I would focus your attention more on correcting your grammar & typing skills. After that then criticize others.
JIM STARKEY April 03, 2013 at 02:07 AM
Well, if only those with good typing skills and grammar should give opinions then maybe only yours would be there. Or is that what you really want? Just like Melissa, I was giving my opinion and was not criticizeing her opinion. Maybe you should get out your oold dictionary and relearn the definition of criticizing!
JIM STARKEY April 03, 2013 at 11:58 AM
Stow Resident. I did not mean to be criticizing anyone. It is just my opinion is much different than Melissa. Anyone who knows me , knows that I love kids and even when their in the wrong. BUT I do believe that this is the time in hteir lives that they need to have some "tough love" and make them accountable for their actions. All that being said I did not say anything about her personally BUT she sure took it to me personally ---yelled at,.----- Grow up!!!!

Kids are going to be kids. There isn't really a victim in this case, so what's the big deal? The city had to do some cleaning up, oh well that's their job.
