5 City Council Things: Bath Salt Legislation, Printing Costs and More

Here's a preview of Stow City Council stories to look for this week on Stow Patch.

Stow City Council will meet again July 14 at 7 p.m. at to review and pass some legislation, but before that happens, here's a few stories to look for on Stow Patch this week:

  1. Bath Salts: The synthetic drug is currently not banned in Stow or the state. Read more about the drug, the city's legislation and whether the police chief thinks the drug is a problem in the city on Stow Patch Wednesday.
  2. Appointments: Two Stow residents are expected to be appointed to city committees Thursday — one to the Senior Citizen’s Commission and one to the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals. To find out more about the newbies, check the site Wednesday.
  3. Cost of Printing: Last year the city spent $27,000 on printing, according to Director of Information Systems Dale Germanos. Germanos presented a contract with ComDoc to council with a plan to reduce that cost. Find out more this week on Stow Patch.
  4. New Sign: Rocco's Pizza is asking for the city's permission to change and move its sign. The sign was damaged during a wind storm, but would have needed to move anyway when construction on the Graham Road widening project begins in that area, according to Rob Kurtz, the city's assistant planning director.
  5. Pending Litigation: An executive session is scheduled for the July 14 meeting to discuss pending litigation. Following Thursday's meeting look for a wrap up of events on Stow Patch Friday.
