5 Things to Know After Thursday's Stow Council Meeting

See what Stow City Council passed during its June 24 meeting.

  1. Stow City Council unanimously passed legislation to allow the  to have its annual pumpkin sale this fall. Timothy Knitz, of the church, said the sale will be Oct. 1 to 31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 12:30 to 5 p.m. on Sundays. The pumpkins are shipped in from Texas and Arizona from American Indian tribes.
  2. Legislation was unanimously passed to allow the to buy four new thermal imaging cameras. Fire Chief Bill Kalbaugh said the cameras will be 90 percent paid for with a grant. The city is responsible to pay $3,600, which is "too good to be true," said the chief. The current thermal imaging cameras the department has are from the 1980s.   3. The ditch problem on Hile Road was resolved. Read more about the compromise between the city and the homeowners .
