Air Quality Alert Issued for Summit County

Young children, the elderly and people with asthma and other preexisting respiratory conditions should consider reducing outdoor activities.

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued an air quality advisory for ozone and fine particulates in Northeast Ohio today (Aug. 19).

Stow is included in the advisory area.

Residents, businesses and local governments should reduce or eliminate unnecessary motor vehicle trips, and consider carpooling or public transportation.

Office and home air conditioners should be set slightly higher, and vehicle refueling and mowing should take place after 7 p.m.
