Artists Dream Out Loud in Paintings on Display at City Hall

The mayor purchased three paintings in support of the Dream Out Loud Studio arts program for people with developmental disabilities.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

And now the beautiful artwork the mayor personally purchased from the Dream Out Loud Studio arts program for people with developmental disabilities can be in the eyes of all Stow residents. 

Mayor Sara Drew purchased (out of her own pocket) three canvas prints from three different artists who participate in the Dream Out Loud Studio program put on by the Summit County Development Disabilities Board, where Drew worked prior to being .

"Each mayor is able to decorate the mayor's conference room as she or he wishes ... I wanted the conference room to be a welcoming place to conduct meetings and greet visitors to the city; having nicely framed art is a great way to have that kind of atmosphere," said Drew.  

The prints on display are entitled Krystina's “Red Monet," Marlon's “End of Shift," and Stephen's "Mod Art."

"The artists from the Developmental Disabilities Board of Summit County are very creative and the prints I have chosen are all just outstanding. I wanted prints that were very different from each other, yet complementary," she said. "This is a project I have personally undertaken but I hope the public and visitors who use the conference room will enjoy the artwork and the talents of the artists."

An unveiling is scheduled for Tuesday (March 26) at 2 p.m at . Light refreshments will be served.
