Cash Flows Online in Stow's New Water Billing System

As of Aug. 1, Stow residents have the option to pay their bills online instead of mailing a check or dropping the payment off at City Hall.

Paying bills is never fun, but in Stow it's at least more convenient.

The city's new system can be used by clicking here: paymybill.stow.oh.us.

The new initiative offers easy access to view and pay current water bills, view past bill consumption, payment histories, the ability to print bills and more.

When customers visit the website, they can create a login name and password, connect to their account and select whether or not they want to register for electronic billing.

Customers will need their account number and the name on the account when creating a  login, all of which can be found on previous water bills.

Paying bills online is more convenient than sending a check or paying in person for many, which is why there is a user fee associated with the online option.

Finance Director John Baranek  he and a panel of employees decided to use Automated Business to provide the service after seeing demonstrations from several companies.

Because of the small convenience fee,  will not incur any costs to provide the service.

Not a big fan of sending your credit card numbers over the Internet? An automated toll-free phone number will also be available to pay with a credit card.

"We're trying to provide the complete package — user-friendly provide us with the most options for the citizens of stow to pay with credit card, debit card or e-check. These options will include internet and eventually point of sale which is in person. Availability of voice response on toll free number for payment processing," .

The new web payment service is expted to provide an added level of customer service.

“We work diligently to meet our customers’ needs,” said Baranek. “In today’s ever-changing high-tech world, the ability to access bills, make online payments and receive electronic bills has become the norm. We think our customers will be pleased with this value-added service.”
