Census: Women Older than Men in Stow, City In Line with Ohio Averages

New details released today on the U.S. Census figures.

Women in Stow aren't afraid to reveal their age and the 2010 shows that, as a group, women are older than men in the city.

But not by much.

The U.S. Census figures show that the average age for women in Stow is 41.1 and the average for males is 38.2.

The average for both men and women in Stow is 39.7 — about a year older than the average of 38.8 across Ohio.

Some good news for Stow residents about the housing market after the detailed U.S. Census figures were released.

Many are describing this time as a housing crisis across the country, but in Stow, there are only 915 vacant housing units. The Census reports that there is a total of 15,141 housing units in Stow and 14,226 are occupied. And of those 14,266 occupied homes, about 9,900 are owned by the resident.

In the Ohio, there are about 2.44 people per household. In Stow, that figure is 2.42.
