D'Antonio Plans Bid to Retain Council Seat

At-large Stow councilman plans re-election bid in November

At-large Stow City Council member Brian D'Antonio plans to seek re-election to the city's top governing body this fall.

D'Antonio announced his candidacy in a statement issue Monday. The filing deadline with the Summit County Board of Elections to seek the office is Wednesday at 4 p.m.

The lifetime Stow resident released the following statement on his candidacy:

“I’ve enjoyed serving the community for the last 18 months as a Councilman for the City of Stow. As a lifelong resident of Stow and I am proud to raise my family in such a wonderful community”.  “I am committed to fiscal responsibility, a balanced budget, and economic development in our community.  My foremost goal has been and will continue to be attracting new businesses and expand our economic base to create long-lasting jobs in Stow, Ohio.”

D’Antonio currently sits on the Finance Committee and  the Planning Committee.

D’Antonio currently serves as the Network Manager of four branches of Berger Transfer and Storage, Inc. His responsibilities include coaching individual branches to exceed their profit goals, labor management, business retention, business development, business expansion, and acting as a liaison between the corporate entity and each branch. D’Antonio has held numerous positions within the organization, including Director of Office & Industrial Sales, Operations Manager, Sales Manager, and General Manager.

In addition to his business experience, Brian is the Vice President of the Stow-Munroe Falls Community Foundation, a member of Solon, Stow-Munroe Falls and Beachwood Chambers of Commerce.  D’Antonio also served on the last Stow Charter Review Commission.

“I believe a good Council member must have several important qualities: a positive attitude; the ability to work with the public and City employees; an understanding of budgets; the ability to make tough decisions that are in the best interest of the entire community and the ability to follow through with the
individual concerns of residents.”

D’Antonio, a lifelong resident of Stow, and his wife Lynn, are both Stow-Munroe Falls High School graduates. They live with their son Owen (5) on Pebblehurst Drive. They are members of Holy Family Church.
