'D.U.M.P.' Unused Medications in Stow

The Summit County Health District, in collaboration with local community partners, established a pharmaceutical disposal program called Dispose of Unused Medicines Properly (D.U.M.P.) for residents to safely dispose of their unused medications.

The purpose of the program is to provide residents a safe, environmentally-friendly way to dispose of unused or expired prescription or over-the-counter medications, according to a press release from the . Residents are encouraged to dispose of unused medication in one of the twelve collection containers located at the addresses listed in the chart below.

Pills, capsules, or liquid medications will be accepted at the containers. Syringes will not be accepted at the D.U.M.P. containers.  Residents may call 330-926-5600 for further information on syringe disposal. Medications should be kept in the original container with the person’s name and address marked out. No questions will be asked, and the medications will be safely destroyed.
