UPDATE: Gas Well Drilling Discussed Again at Council Monday Night

Residents packed City Hall at the end of July to express their opposition to a hydraulic fracking well at the Church of New Hope.

There are many items on City Council's agenda Monday evening, but perhaps the one residents from Stow and beyond are most interested in is if Stow will lease mineral rights to PEP Drilling for a hydraulic fracturing well at the .

On July 23, City Council had a public hearing to get feedback from the community on whether it should lease three-tenths of an acre to PEP Drilling for a gas well already drilled on the  property.

Most of the residents from Stow and a nearby community opposed the drilling. , 78 percent of those who voted oppose the well.

Rasor said the latest and probably final offer from PEP is $20,000 plus royalty money. Nothing has been agreed to by the city or council.
