Six-hundred-thousand dollars will land in the hands of Kent State University official's hands soon after Sen. Sherrod Brown and Rep. Tim Ryan announced the airport in Stow will get a Federal Aviation Administration grant.
The money will be used to identify future needs of the airport and benefit the administration's master plan.
The two politicians offered these quotes in a press release:
“Kent State University Airport provides important travel services to Stow and Kent-area small businesses, pilots, and visitors. This funding will improve the safety and efficiency of the airport so it can remain a reliable option for the region," Brown said.
"This grant for Kent State’s Airport will help the university continue to meet the aviation needs in our area while balancing the surrounding community’s interests and maintaining high environmental standards," Ryan said. “Investments like this will continue northeast Ohio’s growth as a transportation center and support the infrastructure required to keep flight paths safe and accessible in the area.”
No wonder our Govt is broke. With what Kent State charges for admission, and what they pay their administrators, they can surely afford to study their own private Airport... Waste our tax dollars for their benefit because they havent anyone on their staff who can perform this function. I guess the adage is true.. Those who can, Do... Those who can't, Teach...
