July 4 may seem far away, especially after the latest snow storm, but the Stow Fourth of July Parade Committee is busy planning for the 2011 Stow Fourth of July Parade.
First thing the committee is going to accomplish — selecting its grand marshal. As in past years, the Parade Committee is seeking input from the community to determine who will be selected.
The Parade Committee is extending to the public the opportunity to nominate a deserving person for the Grand Marshal of this year’s parade. The person being nominated should either work or live in Stow, and should have contributed greatly to the community in an overwhelming way over the past years.
Nominations received from the public for this year’s parade Grand Marshal are due by April 1 and will then be reviewed by the Parade Committee. The Parade Committee will make their final decision sometime in April.
Completed nomination forms should be turned in or mailed to Stow Parks and Recreation at 5070 Stow Rd., Stow, OH 44224. Nominations may also be emailed to email@example.com or faxed to 330-689-5140.
Last year, the committee selected Houston Morgan. The theme of the parade was 100 years of scouting (Boy Scouts).
The parade will be on Monday July 4.
