Snow Ban: No Parking on Streets Until Noon Saturday

The city's plows will be passing through side streets, which is why cars are not permitted to be

A parking ban has been issued in Stow so that plows can clear the city's side roads, according to the Department's Facebook page.

Mayor Sara Drew the ban is expected to be lifted at noon Jan. 14.

With the help of the public service director and road superintendent, the mayor may issue a parking ban because "a heavy snowstorm constitutes a serious public hazard impairing transportation, the moving of food and fuel, supplies, medical care, fire, health and public protection and other vital facilities of the city," according to the city's law.

Motorists who park on the street during a parking ban are subject to a citation and being towed at the owners' expense.
