Starbucks In Stow, New Parks and Rec Director

Here's a sneak peak at what council will consider tonight:

• Starbucks wants to move into a former bank building at 4249 Kent Rd. The company is seeking a conditional zoning certificate.

• Council is expected to vote on approving Community Information Coordinator Linda Nahrstedt as the city's newest director of parks and recreation. Nick Wren left this position when he was . 

Nahstedt will continue to serve as the community information coordinator. Three current city employees, including Nahrstedt, applied for the job. Mayor Sara Drew said the city was searching for someone internally.

If Nahrstedt's appointment is approved, she will make $31.10/hour ($64,656.90/annually) as the director, said Drew. Wren previously made $37.48/hour ($77,958.40/year).

Nahrstedt's appointment would save the city $87,000 in salary and benefits annually, according to Drew. 

If approved tonight, Nahrstedt's appointment will be effective Monday.
