Stow Mayor Pushing Congress for Jobs

Mayor Karen Fritschel is one of 23 Ohio mayors to urge Congress to pass the American Jobs Act.

Unemployment is a concern for many residents and politicians in Ohio right now and Mayor Karen Fritschel is no exception.

She was one of 23 mayors in Ohio to sign a letter to Congress urging politicians to pass the American Jobs Act.

"I signed this letter in the hopes that the administration and Congress could work together to help our economy, especially in job creation," Fritschel said. "I know that the bill will not pass as it is currently written, but, as many other Americans, we hope that these branches of government make an effort to try and find common ground and build on that foundation."

Stow recorded in 2010, according to Director of Budget and Management John Earle.

"It's so frustrating to sit here and watch Washington officials bicker while so many people are struggling due to job losses," Fritschel said. "Stow, like all communities needs jobs."
