Stow Memorial Day Program 2012

On Monday, people will gather at Stow Cemetery to honor those who have served their country.

Stow is honoring those who have served this country in a Memorial Day Program at the beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Stow Mayor Sara Drew reminded members Thursday of the ceremony's start time, pointing out that seats in the shade go to those who arrive early.

Here is the agenda for the ceremony, which is presented by the Acker-Moore Memorial Post and the Stow Cemetery Board:

  • Opening remarks from George Fisher, commander of the Acker-Moore American Legion Post 175
  • Dedication of wreaths
  • Singing
  • Reading of the Honor Roll of those killed in action and missing in action
  • Salute to the dead
  • Flags raised to full mast during the playing and singing of "The Star Spangled Banner," by Frances Scott Key.
