Stow Spends $60,000 on Mower
Jacobsen rough mower will serve Stow Parks and Recreation
The city of Stow will be adding a new, $60,000 mower to its Parks and Recreation fleet.
Stow City Council signed off on the expense of $60,250 for a Jacobsen 9016 Rough Mower that will replace three pieces of equipment the department had been using to trim grass around the city.
Nicholas Wren, assistant director of public service for Stow, said at first the city planned to lease the equipment for five years at a cost of about $65,000, but city officials decided to buy the mower with one lump sum to lessen the expense.

Wren said the equipment the parks department has now can cut 1 acre in about 30 minutes.
"This piece of machinery does it in about 7.5 minutes," he said.
