Mayor Sara Drew is seeking Stow residents from Ward 2, Ward 3 and Ward 4 who have an interest in improving city government by volunteering to serve on the Stow Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
Appointments to the board seats – all volunteer positions – are made by the mayor and confirmed by Stow City Council.
The advisory board works closely with the director of the parks and recreation department to recommend general policy to the city administration, mayor and council, regarding management of recreation facilities, programs and parkland.
The board, which meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m., is comprised of five members who serve five-year terms. Each of the four wards of the city are represented on the board, with the fifth member being at-large and appointed by the Stow-Munroe Falls Board of Education.
The current vacancies are for unexpired terms. Applicants must reside in one of the city wards that has a vacancy, and must also be a registered voter.
For more information or for an application for one of these openings call the mayor’s office at 330-689-2800.
