A 2011 Graduate With Honors: Julie Rooney

Julie would like to study in Ireland while in college and hopes to become a judge one day.

Julie Rooney, daughter of Tim and Janet Rooney of Munroe Falls, is being recognized as one of the top 10 students from the class of 2011 on Thursday at graduation.

Describing herself as a competitive, fun-loving intellectual, was a member of the National Honor Society and the varsity basketball and softball teams during her four years at the high school. She was recognized by the Breakfast Optimist Club of Cuyahoga Falls with the Youth Appreciation Award and also received the Stow Booster Athletic Commitment Award.

Julie is looking forward to majoring in pre-law studies at Denison University, where she has received the Mary Carr Memorial Scholarship. She hopes to become a judge one day.

Noting her Irish roots, Julie said she would like to study abroad while at Denison, preferably in Ireland.
