A 2011 Graduate With Honors: Justin Thomas

Read what Justin plans to do with the next four years of education at The Ohio State University.

Justin Thomas, son of Stow residents Jason and Angie Thomas, will be recognized during graduation Thursday for being one of the top 10 students in the 2011 class.

In addition to being a member of the National Honor Society, Justin was a member of the varsity track and cross country teams, where he served as team captain of the track team in 2010 and team captain of the cross country team in 2011. He was awarded the Youth Appreciation Award from the Optimist Club of Cuyahoga Falls and two Rotary Achievement Awards from the Stow-Munroe Falls Rotary, one award for academics and the other for character.

A recipient of the Provost Scholarship, COFFEE Scholarship (Choose Ohio First For Engineering Entrepreneurship) and Chemical Engineering Scholarship from The Ohio State University, Justin is planning to major in chemical engineering at The Ohio State University with a minor in business.

During the next four years, Justin said he is looking forward to taking challenging classes and figuring out who he is.

“I am pretty disciplined and hardworking. Faith in God is important to me too," he said. "I have a strong conscience and I want to be a positive influence on those around me.”
