Board Member Figures Savings on Personnel was $1.26 Million
Boardmember Fred Bonacci wanted to look at the facts and figures himself and give a presentation on salary/benefit savings from last year.
With 85 percent of the cash going toward salaries and benefits, Board Member Fred Bonacci wanted to know how that money was being handled and what kind of savings happened in the last year.
He found out that the district saved $1.26 million on certified personnel. Weeks ago, Bonacci told the public he would investigate and put together a presentation about his findings.

"That's a significant savings over the last year," he said.
Superintendent Russ Jones thanked Bonacci for his report and said "this is really one of the main things we’ve been trying to do ... save the district dollars over the last several years."
The superintendent said the goal is to continue to find ways to save money.
"We look at our numbers with a fine-tooth comb," he said. "Our goal is always to maintain the best education, as always, but we are also watch dogs about [our finances]."
